Harmonie Concordia, opgericht in 1928, is een dynamische groep van ongeveer vijftig muzikanten van zowel jong als wat ouder. Plezier hebben in samen muziek maken staat bij ons zeker op de eerste plaats. De leden zijn enthousiast en willen goede muziek neerzetten. Doordat onze secties goed gemengd zijn qua jong en oud, is er een goede sfeer in onze harmonie.
Wij treden regelmatig op tijdens evenementen in Bergen op Zoom zoals Koningsdag, het Paradefestival en ProefMei, maar we zijn ook van de partij in de regio met bijvoorbeeld uitwisselingsconcerten en tijdens Muzica in Zandvliet (B).
Onze repetities zijn elke vrijdagavond van 20.00 tot 22.00 uur in wijkcentrum ‘Het Hoofdkwartier’ in de Rembrandtstraat 52A. Deze worden sinds 2007 geleid door dirigent Guy van Geldorp. We spelen heel diverse muziek, van klassiek tot aan hedendaagse popsongs, maar ook marsen en bekende muziek voor jong en oud. Van Bach tot aan ‘Gangnamstyle’ en van Ramses Shaffy tot aan ‘Let it go’ van Frozen.
Na de repetitie is het voor een groot aantal leden nog geen tijd om naar huis te gaan, maar om nog even samen gezellig de avond af te sluiten. Vaak zijn er ook nog nevenactiviteiten naast het repeteren zoals het jaarlijks terugkerende St. Caeciliafeest en gezellige niet-muzikale activiteiten.
